yumminess from House of Polvoron

During my younger years, I was always experimenting with food. I tried to make yema, milk balls and polvoron. All of them my favorites :) What can I do? I have a sweet tooth folks! Then to make money, I will sell them to my classmates. I made a profit of course, but I was not able to sustain it probably because what was foremost on my mind back then was gimik with the barkada and crushes!

Then I became serious with my studies :)) That cooking phase was totally forgotten.

But I will always like P O L V O R O N no matter what..

 Polvoron from House of Polvoron--YUM!!!

Pili and cashew are my favorites

You won't regret it, promise!

80's music is the best!!!

Can you imagine life without music? I certainly can't.. Music feeds the soul, warms the heart, calms the mind, enriches lives and more..

I especially love the music of the 80's. It reminds me of my highschool life. Yes, i'm that old..:)

Tears for Fears, Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet were the bands I liked so much back then, I even cut out pictures of them from magazines (to put in my notebooks), and my room was filled with their posters too!

Tears for Fears-Everybody wants to rule the world

Duran Duran- The Reflex

Spandau Ballet- True

I also liked The Culture Club..But not as much as the three bands I mentioned.

I think I will not get tired of listening to 80's music!

Love is for suckers!

My friend once told me this- "Love is for suckers only, period." Huh? "What are you talking about?" , i said.

When you love, you always have to take risks, you'll end up getting hurt eventually. Then you wallow in self-pity, suffer from low self-esteem, rebel, find another love, go through the same process again... S"#%T!!!!! WTF!! arrrrrrrrrrgh! ayoko na, you'll tell yourself, but then again you'll eventually try to love again because there's no greater gift from God than LOVE.. Whew! And you will always have that HOPE, that longing of being loved and needed again by another person because--WHAT IS LIFE WITHOUT LOVE??

Yes my friend, as cliche as this may sound, love makes the world go round, haha...

I think you are right! wink, wink..=)

Friend: OK ka na ba?
Me: Not yet, but i know i will be..
Friend: Prayers help!
Me:OO naman
Friend: Labas tau! Wag ka mg-mukmok jan no!
Me: Cge
Friend: It's his loss
Me: kala ko kasi...
Friend: Hay naku, walang kwentang tao un!
Me: korek :(  (crying...)

5 stages of coping

My heart was mashed and crushed recently. I was really heartbroken. I felt used, cheated and betrayed.

Me: Ang tanga-tanga ko!
Friendship: Hindi no! Sya ang gago.

Me: sinungaling sya
Friendship: dati na

How do you deal with the loss of a loved one? Or any life-changing situation for that matter (illness or divorce) Do you cry buckets of tears, wallow in self-pity, feel hopeless, get angry.. Each one of us will have unique responses
to different situations. But according to Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, a Psychiatrist who wrote the book-On Death and Dying,  there are 5 stages of coping that many people follow.

DABDA

1. Denial- not me!
2. Anger- why me?
3. Bargaining- give me more time
4. Depression- loneliness if bargaining doesnt work
5. Acceptance- moving on

Not everyone will feel these psychological responses chronologically or completely. Not all of us will experience or go through the five stages. What we will experience with an illness or a loss will be as unique and as different as who we are as individuals.

Yey for the Social Network and Natalie Portman!

Wow! The Social Network won the Golden Globes' Best Motion Picture-Drama! Sabi ko na nga ba eh! They'll win in the Oscars too im sure! David Fincher also won the Best Director Award. The movie was that good, kaya watch it na guys..

And as I've written before, I was impressed with the acting of Natalie Portman so I was not at all surprised that she won the Best Actress award in the Golden Globes for the Black Swan movie.

Congratulations also to the Glee cast, they won the Best Television Series-Comedy or Musical award.

In fairness to Natalie Portman

I was intrigued with all the hype so i watched the BLACK SWAN. It stars Natalie Portman as the ballet dancer Nina Sayers  that's obsessed ( and stressed ) with the role of the 'Swan Queen'. She was tapped to play both the white and black swan but she doesn't have the personality that's fit to play the dark and evil black swan. She's perfect for the white swan role because she's innocent and poised. But she struggles with the black swan role because it requires passion and sensuality (which she lacks, because of her overbearing mother?)..

As usual, Portman delivers. She's a great actress. You can really feel her pain.

This is a serious, psychological thriller. But let me share with you this for fun >>>>>>>>>

Product Spotlight: Myra VITAWHITE whitening Face Lotion

I'm always on the lookout for a good makeup base or moisturizers that can be worn under makeup. So when I came across Myra VITAWHITE whitening face lotion, I just had to try it as my garnier face lotion has been all used up already (more on this product later). This can be used under makeup as stated at  back cover. What also caught my eye was the double sunscreen protection against UVA and UVB rays. It has SPF 15 for 15X longer protection from the sun! Just perfect for me as I don't normally stay under the sun for long periods of time. This is actually an inexpensive product (which is the topmost criteria for me ) :P   BUT not unlike the imported ones, this is also enriched with Vitamin E and it also delivers on its promise of a fairer and healthier skin!

 has SPF 15

Has ActiLight Complex derived from plant extracts to help lighten skin

What I Love About:

  • cools the skin when applied
  • not greasy at all
  • for everyday use so it's really gentle
  • my skin did not get oily at all even after 4-6 hrs
  • no break-outs for me
  • inexpensive- only Php100+

What I Don't:

  • nothing

Pneumatically sent!

My friends and I visited a friend's mom at Manila Doctor's Hospital. Upon entering the lobby, we saw this odd-looking tubes on the ceiling. While waiting for the elevator, we were wondering what really is the purpose of those tubes, until something passed through, and I tell you it was really fast. Like a vacuum really.

It says: Medicines, specimens and more sent fast pneumatically.

The tubes are connected from nurses' stations to the pharmacy and laboratory. Instead of having someone deliver medicines or specimens, the nurses just have to place the items in a tight container and voila! It will be sent insatntly to the desired place by just pushing some buttons. (I wasn't able to take pictures at the nurses station, sorry guys)

How I wish all hospitals have this technology. It can really save time and manpower too!

Great deals!

I've yet to try one of their great deals but I've already made up my mind to avail one of ensogo's discounts! I've heard about ensogo manila from one of my friends and she has only good things to say about them. They have truly big discounts from the best spas, restos and hotels. A saver indeed! Ummm, I think I'll try first the massage offer... I need one badly. :))
